#1 What's your Story?

Table of Contents

Our stories or testimonies are a valuable part of who we are, but sharing them can often feel challenging. What is holding you back from sharing and is your testimony even important? In this episode, Jeremy and Emily share some thoughts and suggestions that will help guide you through sharing your story and show you how God can use it to impact others.

Why is sharing your story so important?

Although some group members will want to push quickly past this session, it is one of the most important, especially in the context of the lens with which you will view and frame discussions going forward. We quickly find when we share our stories that we are not all that different. There are common themes in nearly every story. We might feel that we “know” each other; however, this time of sharing often reveals a side of others we would not have otherwise known. This will be an important step forward in building intentional relationships.

Remember, leaders lead, and going first will set the tone for the rest of the stories. The more willing you are to be authentic and show the “real” you, the more likely group members will be to follow.
