We are given the Holy Spirit to empower our Christian lives. However, we live in a day and age when it seems very few Christians are living with much power. Why is this? Is the Holy Spirit just not working as He did in the past?

In today’s podcast, Jeremy and Emily discuss some of the barriers we have built that hinder our ability to walk with the Holy Spirit fully. Listen in to see if you have created any of these barriers in your own life, and if so, how to remove them.

Greater than Jesus? You almost can hear the disciples’ thoughts when Jesus said He would send another “who will be greater.” How could this invisible someone be better than having Jesus in person? I have had these thoughts myself, and your group will likely have them, too. This is a topic that is highly debated in the church world, but you must unite your group around what the Bible says about this incredibly important topic. Keep the focus on the truth and encourage your group to search the Word and pursue the Holy Spirit for the truth, versus asking other people for their opinions.

Remember to lead your group through these discussions rather than preaching your own views. The next several sessions may be challenging for some who have denominational biases. You can rest in knowing we have worked through these sessions with much prayer, research, and the best of our abilities. If you have trouble, reach out to your mentor.
