Podcast Session #9
What is your approach to God? Is it based on how good you have been, how well have you read the Bible, prayed daily or followed His commandments? Is this the correct approach to God?
In today’s podcast, Jeremy and Emily will discuss the blood of Christ; a topic that can often be hard to apply practically to our everyday lives. However, in this podcast they discuss very practical applications around the blood and the power it has to not only bring salvation but to change our daily walk with the Lord and our approach to God.

Short Bio On Nee:
Watchman Nee was a prominent Chinese Christian leader and writer who lived from 1903 to 1972. His life and work left a significant impact on the Christian faith in China and beyond.
Born in Fuzhou, China, Nee grew up in a Christian family and became a believer at a young age. He dedicated his life to serving Christ and sharing the Gospel with others. Nee’s ministry focused on establishing house churches, which became a vital part of the Chinese Christian community.
According to Dwell Christian Church, Nee’s house church movement was inspired by his vision of a more organic and intimate form of Christian fellowship. His belief was that the church was not a physical building but rather a gathering of believers who shared their faith, lives, and resources.
Nee’s teachings emphasized the importance of spiritual growth and discipleship. He wrote extensively on topics such as the Holy Spirit, prayer, and the Christian life. His writings were widely translated and distributed, and he is considered one of the most influential Chinese Christian writers of the 20th century.
Throughout his life, Nee faced many challenges and setbacks. He spent a significant portion of his ministry in prison, where he endured persecution and suffering. Despite this, he remained faithful to his calling, and his ministry continued to thrive.
In 1952, Nee was arrested and accused of being a counter-revolutionary. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison and spent the remainder of his life in detention. However, even in prison, he continued to minister to his fellow inmates and write books that would later become widely read and influential.
Nee’s legacy has continued to impact the Christian faith long after his death. His teachings on discipleship, prayer, and spiritual growth have inspired many Christians around the world. The house church movement that he helped establish in China has also become a model for Christian communities in other countries.
His legacy has left an indelible mark on the Christian faith, and his influence continues to be felt today.
The next three sessions are probably my favorite ones. The depth and revelation revealed by Watchman Nee in the readings for these weeks has been life changing for me. Session 9, The Blood of Christ, has the ability to set men free. Your Leader Guide will help you lead well in this session, but be sure to read or re-read Chapter 1 of The Normal Christian Life before group. I have led this session numerous times and each time I prepare, God reveals something new to me through that book. Several key points to make sure you discuss:
1. The Blood is primarily for God. It’s only when we understand the value God places on the Blood that we can accept its power for us.
2. We never approach God based on our attainment or how "good" we have been. We only and always approach Him based on the power of the Blood.
3. The Blood of Christ works in three directions: Godward, Manward, and Satanward.
I know these points are in your Leader Guide, however, I mention them again here because they are so important. My walk with Jesus has been completely different after understanding these truths. Call me or your mentor if you want to discuss this; I would love to tell you about my personal journey and the practical changes that have occurred in my faith because of this study.
Leader Tip:
Several leaders have experienced pushback from group members during the sessions on the Blood, The Cross, and Spirit, Soul, and Flesh. A few men have felt the material was too deep or difficult to read. Your response is important if this happens. In fact, you may want to get ahead of it by addressing this before a member mentions it. Remind your group that we are not drinking from baby bottles; we are adults who want to be fed the meat of the Word. Point out that growth in anything requires challenge, no different from studying for a degree or license or working toward a goal.
