Have you ever wondered why God requires obedience? Do you often find it hard to understand and walk out some of His commands? In this episode, Emily and Jeremy discuss discipleship principle #3: Obey Him. Listen in, as they discuss the importance of obeying God. They will dissect different types of obedience, the pitfalls around walking this out, and why obedience is paramount to being an effective disciple who makes disciples.

Obedience to the Word of God is paramount in being a disciple who makes disciples. In session 20, we will study many scriptures that support the fact that Jesus calls us to obey His commandments. Just think about it practically with me for a moment: How would it be possible for us to disciple others without walking in obedience ourselves? Discipleship is a principle that is more caught than taught, so if you are not pursuing a life of obedience yourself, what do you think will be caught by those you disciple? More to the point, what are you discipling them in? Notice that I said pursuing obedience; this is because I have never met anyone who walked in perfect obedience. The important thing is to strive for obedience and to model this for those we disciple.
